    Hurt by Falling Tree at Work; Leaves Two Small Children

    Bion Henry Eddy, 31, of Maple street died Wednesday afternoon at the Brattleboro Memorial hospital from injuries received a week ago today when a tree fell on him while he was at work on Ames Hill. An autopsy showed a ruptured diapragm. His condition had been critical from the first.

    He was born in West Dummerston, July 17, 1914, a son of William Henry and Cora Elizabeth (Goodenough) Eddy of West Brattleboro. He married Doris Ruth Stowell of Windham, July 11, 1941, and she survives with two children: Ruth Elizabeth, 3, and David Bion Eddy, a year and two months. He also leaves one brother, Pvt. William Hermon Eddy, stationed at Camp Wheeler, Ga., and two sisters, Mrs. Fred Castine and Mrs. Herbert A. Wood, both of Brattleboro. He leaves an aunt and several nieces and nephews.

    Mr. Eddy, who formerly worked several years for the C. E. Bradley Corp. was employed by Earl Moore at his sawmill in West Brattleboro.

    Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p. m. at the Dickinson-Streeter funeral parlors. Rev. J. H. Blackburn of West Brattleboro will officiate.

    Funeral services for Bion H. Eddy of Maple street, who died Wednesday of injuries received when a tree fell on him while at work on Ames Hill, were held Saturday at 2 p. m. at the Dickinson-Streeter funeral home on High street. Rev. J. H. Blackburn of West Brattleboro, officiated. James Stearns was at the organ. There were many beautiful flowers. The bearers were Ray Winchester, Henry Lee, Leonard Stowell and Fred Castine. Interment was in the West Brattleboro cemetery. Those who attended from out of town wee Mr. and Mrs. Roland Absden of Springfield, Vt., Mr. and Mrs. George Peters and Herbert Packard of Greenfield, Mass., Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Stowell and daughter, Joyce, Mrs. Alice Bliss and son, Robert, of Chester, Vt., Mrs. Mertie Pollard of Bartonsville, Mrs. M. P. Boutell of Townshend, Ralph Wallen and daughter, Wlanie, Mrs. Fred McGregor and Edgar Wallen of Troy, N. Y.
