She was born in Ritchie County, a daughter of the late Irene Eddy Handwerk. She was a retired registered nurse with the veterans hospital in California. She is survived by a cousin Carleta Naylor of Parkersburg and a close friend, Shirley A. Tingler of Pennsboro. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Brockmeyer and an infant daughter. Burial will be at the family's convenience in the Pine Grove Cemetery, near Glen Dale, Ritchie County.
