Julia Cowley Eddy, wife of George Eddy of the Shipshewana vicinity, died last Saturday, August 12, 1939, at the age of 79 years and one month, after an illness of nine months. She was born in Howe IN July 12, 1860.
She was the daughter of Stephen and Adelia Cowley. On March 15, 1882, she was united in marriage with George A. Eddy at LaGrange in which county they lived over 50 years. On March 15, 1939, they celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary with their immediate family.
Five children were born to this union; Mrs. Keightley (Margaret) Hulbert of Shipshewana, Mr. Gordon K Eddy of Detroit MI, Mr. Stephen A. Eddy of Sturgis, Mrs. Cyrus Bowdish of Mendon MI, and one son who died in infancy. Besides her husband and children she leaves to mourn her loss one sister, Mrs. Delia Gouter of Big Creek CA, six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a host of friends and relatives.
Funeral services were held at the Bethel Church and burial was at the Keightley Cemetery, Monday afternoon

2. Eddy, John was born on 5 Aug 1888.
3. Eddy, Stephen Cowley was born on 16 Mar 1890 in Lagrange County, Indiana; died on 17 Nov 1942; was buried in Lagrange County, Indiana.
4. Eddy, Margaret was born on 3 Nov 1895 in Brighton, Lagrange County, Indiana.
5. Eddy, Gordon Karl was born on 15 Oct 1897 in Lagrange County, Indiana; died on 8 May 1953.
