In 1825 Ira is noted in the Clarke Township Census. The family would have arrived in the area just prior to this as they are not found in any early records or census information prior to 1825. They first settled in the Antioch District near Clarke and then found there way to Clarke Township.

There are five people listed as members of the family in the household.

Old Orono Stones Cemetery was moved to Lawrence Presbyterian Cemetery Lot 21 Conc 5 in Clarke Township. The tombstones were placed onto concrete cairns.
Many stones are broken due to neglect and vandalism. Ira and Zoa's stone most likely sunk far down into the earth as it is broken just below his name.

Ira married Kilburn, Zoe about 1820 in USA. Zoe was born in 1797 in USA; died on 18 Dec 1868 in Orono, Clarke Township, Durham County, Ontario, Canada; was buried in Old Orono Stones Cemetery, Clarke Township, Durham County, Ontario, Canada. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

NOTE: James N Arnold recorded this lot 14 Sep 1904 (Vol 3, Pg 41) On the road
leading south from the Gov West place and near its crossing the first road south
a burial yard which is beside road. Yard well walled and lot in good order.
This cemetery has been recorded but not checked.

1746 EDDY EDDY William, of Caleb and Methitable, April 25, 1746. 1 55 Birth Warren

At the time of the 1774 Census he was a resident of Scituate, RI with a household consisting of one male over 16, five under 16, and one female. He does not appear in the 1777 Census of RI. Probably around 1775 he joined his brother Samuel in western MA for he served in the Revolutionary War, from Gageborough with the following service:
William Eddy, Gageborough. Sergeant, Capt. John Wood's company, Col. Paul Dudley Sargent's regiment; muster roll dated Aug. 1, 1775; enlisted April 24, 1775; service 3 months 15 days; also, company return (prob. Oct, 1775); also, order for bounty coat or its equivalent in money dated Cambridge, November 15, 1775.
