James Arthur Eddy, 71, of Liberty St., Industrial, WV, died Wednesday at
his residence following an extended illness.

Eddy was a member of Salem Church of Christ. He was born in Ritchie County,
a son of the late Wade and Minnie Higginbotham Eddy.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Dotson Eddy; one daughter, M. Delores
"Sid" Carder of Salem; six sons, Wayne, Wade, James "Knuck", Gary, and
Michael Eddy, all of Salem, and Daniel Eddy of St. Marys; two sisters,
Nancy Belle Owens of Harrisville and Ruby Frances of Parkersburg; one
brother, Lee Eddy of Harrisville; 12 grandchildren; and two great-
grandchildren.

The funeral was 11am today at Harbert Funeral Chapel, Salem. Burial was in
Cantwell Church of Christ Cemetery, near Mellin, Ritchie County.

James married Dotson, Sylvia Delores on 10 Aug 1942. Sylvia (daughter of Dotson, Thomas and Ingram, Addie) was born on 25 Oct 1923 in Buck Run, Ritchie County, West Virginia; died on 26 Jul 1999 in Industrial West Virginia; was buried in Cantwell Church of Christ Cemetery, Ritchie County, West Virginia. Sylvia Deloris Eddy, 75,of Liberty Street, Industrial, WV, died July 26 at
her residence following an extended illness.

She was born at Buck Run in Ritchie County on Oct. 25, 1923, to the late
Thomas and Addie Ingram Dotson. She was a member of Salem Church of Christ
and enjoyed quilting and crossword puzzles.

She is survived by one daughter, Minnie Deloris "Sid" Carder of Industrial;
six sons, Daniel Eddy of St. Marys and Michael, James "Knuck," Garry, a
twins Wayne and Wade Eddy, all of Salem, WV; two sisters, Jewel Dill
Akron, OH, and Betty Jones of Ellenboro; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-
grandchildren.

Her husband, James A. Eddy, whom she married Aug. 10, 1942, preceded her in
death on May 21, 1992.

Services will be Thursday at 11am at Harbert Funeral Home in Salem. Burial
will follow in Cantwell Church of Christ Cemetery near Mellin in Ritchie
County.
