    Left New England in c. 1803 for New York, then Haldimand Twp, Northumberland County, Ontario, Canada by 1807. A 4 year old son died Feb 18, 1807 in Haldimand Twp.

    And in the March 08, 1817 Kingston gazette on Tuesday eighteenth of February a son, and aged four years of Allen Eddy of Haldimand died when the house of Mr. Eddy was totally destroyed by fire

    At the time of the 1774 Census he was a resident of Scituate, RI with a household consisting of one male over 16, five under 16, and one female. He does not appear in the 1777 Census of RI. Probably around 1775 he joined his brother Samuel in western MA for he served in the Revolutionary War, from Gageborough with the following service:
    William Eddy, Gageborough. Sergeant, Capt. John Wood's company, Col. Paul Dudley Sargent's regiment; muster roll dated Aug. 1, 1775; enlisted April 24, 1775; service 3 months 15 days; also, company return (prob. Oct, 1775); also, order for bounty coat or its equivalent in money dated Cambridge, November 15, 1775.
