SPRINGFIELD - Rose R. Eddy, 77, died Saturday, October 9, 2004 in a Hampden nursing home. She was born in Newton, MA and was the daughter of the late Cecil J. and Elsie (Janse) Ramhofer. She was married for 48 years to the late Stanley H. Eddy who died in 2003. Rose had previously lived in Wilbraham, Hampden and Suffield, CT before moving to Searsport, ME. Rose and her husband then resettled in Springfield in 2001. While in Maine she and her husband were volunteers at the Waldo County Hospital and the Penobscot Marine Museum. Rose leaves a son, Christopher H. Eddy; a daughter, Jan Gauthier and her husband Stephen; two grandchildren, Robert and Ashley Gauthier, all of Springfield. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday October 14, 2004 in Holy Cross Church, 221 Plumtree Rd., Springfield. There will be no visiting hours and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made to the American Cancer Society, 31 Capital Dr., West Springfield, MA 01089. Forastiere-Smith Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., East Longmeadow is in charge of arrangements.
